African Cuisine ExtrordinaireMade with Xara Soleil’s African Cuisine is a full service off-site catering and African products development company that has been in business for over 10 years. Soleil’s caters events in the areas of San Francisco, East Bay, South Bay, San Mateo, Mountain View California and beyond. Although there is no restaurant where one can enjoy the many flavors of Soleil's African Cuisine, there are many places around the Bay Area where we can be found displaying our culinary expertise including the Hayward Farmer's Market on Saturdays, Jack London Square Farmer's Market on some Sundays, the Alameda's Farmer's Market in San Leandro on Tuesdays, and the monthly Alameda Antiques Faire providing tantalizing dishes with Soleil's own unique African Flare. There is tilapia with rice covered in a wonderfully aromatic sauce, chicken and rice in a coconut sauce, butternut squash bisque, and of course for desert Beignet de banane. Let us not forget the fried plantains.We offer a Pan-African menu selection that runs the gamut from Central and West African cuisine, to as far South as South Africa and as far East as Ethiopia. Our goal is to bring authentic African cuisine with fresh and often organic ingredients like our mothers used in their kitchens in Africa. Our menus are very simple but full of flavor and originality based on the spices and ingredients used for generations. From the farm to the kitchen is the concept of food in Africa. With minimal food preservation methods practiced, we shop our local farmers markets to prepare fresh, healthy and good quality meals for our clients, just like our mothers did for their families. Ninety-Five percent of our food is fresh and wholesome and very little is processed. We do use organic and or halal (kosher) every chance we get or if requested.Our cuisine being so unique and not easily accessible means we cater for groups of five or gatherings of hundreds to give the public a chance to experience our food. We cater small intimate parties to mid-size or elaborate weddings, or receptions for institutions with hundreds of guests. Our events range from sit-down dinners to buffet stations, or for small functions, simply delivering to our customers.Our clients have included Stanford University, San Francisco Jazz Org., Pixar Movie Studios, University of Iowa, Congress Man Jim Leach, primary caterer for African related-events for the University of Iowa from 2000-2006, weddings, parties and a host of private individuals.
